Building Confidence on the Court: Isaac's Wheelchair Basketball Success

Each week, Isaac brings his energy and enthusiasm to the basketball court. As a committed athlete, he loves the excitement of regular training and the close friendships he’s formed with his teammates.

Participating at this level requires a significant commitment. To attend weekly training, Isaac and his family travel a minimum of 195 miles. He also takes part in regular weekend competitions and National Academy sessions. Showing up consistently has helped him grow in confidence, build resilience, and enjoy a routine that supports his overall well-being.

To support his sporting goals, an application was made for a Personal Development Grant. The award has eased considerable financial pressure on his family by helping cover club fees and substantial weekly fuel costs.

It provided “much-needed stability and reassurance, allowing his family to focus on his development rather than on the cost of travelling to matches.”

Knowing the travel costs are covered has allowed Isaac to continue his training and competitions without any interruptions. He remains an energetic and committed presence on the court, enjoying every minute of his time playing the sport he loves.
