In September 2017 Trefoil made a grant of £5,000 to Positive Realities, a local organisation which helps young people with additional needs to take part in activities around Edinburgh. This helped them to establish a new initiative, Social Hub.
Rebecca Fletcher from Positive Realities told us that, "Social Hub is a welcoming, inclusive space for socially isolated young people to meet new people and try new things. The group is run by a worker and a small team of brilliant volunteers who support the young people to participate fully in activities and ease in new members who may be nervous about coming along for the first time. In the past few months they have held a 'Speed Friending' event, joined a ghost tour, learned first aid, and toured the Scottish Poetry Library. Social Hub gives members greater confidence in navigating social situations and discovering new talents."
