Trefoil hosted its first fundraising Quiz Night at Le Monde, George Street, Edinburgh on Wednesday 6 October 2010. Twelve teams signed up to take part in this fun event – some familiar faces and, we are delighted to say, some new ones. Ten rounds of questions followed covering a diverse range of subjects including film, general knowledge, the written word, the body and the dreaded Eurovision lyrics! The teams enjoyed the half time break pondering over cartoon characters as they were served a light supper to help sustain them through the second half.
After a closely fought battle, Quizbollah was the winning team with a score of 78.5 following by the Edinburgh Risk Management Ugly team with a score of 75 points. The booby prize went to The Missing Link team. Missing Link? They were just missing the answers!
Trefoil is delighted to announce that £462.63 was raised during the evening – an amount which surpassed our expectations and so we would like to sincerely thank all those who took part in the quiz night and for their support of Trefoil. Without this valued support, Trefoil would not be able to award as many grants to special needs children and young people and so, once again, we thank all our supporters.
The second Trefoil Quiz Night will take place during the second half of 2011 when it is hoped that even more teams will join in the fun.
